INFANT & TODDLER DEPARTMENT
Our program is designed to meet the developmental
needs of young children. We provide experiences that
challenge and support each child's cognitive, language,
social, emotional, physical and creative development.
During the course of the day each child has opportunities
to create, explore the environment, develop personal
interaction skills, and learn problem solving skills through first
hand experience. We encourage exploration and involvement.
Program Activities:
Special attention is given to each infant in order to establish
healthy bonding and to ensure effective child care.  Detailed
records of developmental progress are kept to document
attainment of milestones and to involve parents in the
cognitive and physical development of infants.

Toddler activities focus on nurturing children' sensory-motor development,
potty training via positive reinforcement means, and socialization skills.
Assessments:
A need and service plan will be filled out by the parent upon enrollment.
They are to be updated quarterly with the parent(s) and the Center
Director.  Informal parent conferences will be conducted continually during
drop-off and pick-up times.
* We encourage parents/guardians to freely discuss children's progress with
teachers, aides and/or directors on an ongoing basis.  Comments, questions,
concerns and constructive criticism are encouraged.  Parents are encouraged
to occasionally visit the Academy to observe daily activities.
Nutrition:
Food for babies is supplied by parents.  Food is given based upon the
developmental level of a child to enhance growth.  No food will be given to
infants before they are physiologically ready for proper digestion.  Toddlers
are fed in keeping with their nutritional needs.  They are provided daily
breakfast, lunch, and snack.
Health:
Children must be generally healthy in order to attend this program.
Prescription medication will be administered only upon the Director's
approval.  (The medication must be in the original container with the
doctor's instructions affixed.)  The parent/guardian must sign a medication
administration request before any medication will be given.

Children with temperatures of or exceeding 100 degrees F must be picked
up immediately by an authorized  person.  Children with any or a
combination of vomiting, sore throat, excessive discharge form the nose,
eyes, or ears must be picked up.

Children absent five (5) days or more for medical reasons must have a
signed doctor's slip to return to school.
